Presale to the basics of sports coaching principles course
The course will teach you the basic principles of sports coaching and how to apply it with various ages and levels. This is a generic sports coaching course where candidates can use these skills and apply it to sporting codes of their choice. The course is structured for students, teachers, sports players, current coaches and those who are wanting to start their sports coaching career.
Particularly with teachers at schools, they are often tasked with doing extra-curricular activities with their learners. The challenge with this is the transition of teaching instruction from the classroom on to the sports field. This course will also provide such candidates with the requirements and knowledge of becoming a coach, designing coaching sessions and learning to cope with various common matters that a sports coach deals with on a day to day basis.
Please note: this course is not accredited with any body and by doing this course, you hereby understand that it will provide you with various skills that you can use and apply. You will not be able to call yourself a "Qualified Physical Educator" or "Qualified Teacher" or "Qualified Sports Coach" , etc after completing this course.
Your Instructor
Habib Noorbhai is a Lecturer, Researcher, Biokineticist, Sports Scientist, Motivational Speaker and Humanitarian.
The lessons learned from playing sport gave him the motivation to further his studies in the sport and health industry. Habib completed his Bachelor’s degree in Sport Psychology at the University of Johannesburg and Honours degree in Biokinetics at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. He completed his Masters Degree (MPhil) in Biokinetics at the University of Cape Town’s Division of Exercise Science and Sports Medicine and is currently doing his PhD on cricket batting.
Cricket, injury prevention, biomechanics, nutrition, sports medicine and applied physical activity research is a passion of his. To date, he has a few publications in peer-reviewed academic journals and has presented papers at local and international conferences relating to cricket, sports injuries, physical activity, nutrition, exercise medicine and functional rehabilitation. He has lectured at prestige institutions such as the University of Cape Town, eta (Exercise Teachers Academy) and FIT International Training Academy. Currently, he works as a Lecturer and Researcher at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. He also voluntarily commits as a fitness expert on Health24.
